Soccer Mom Survival Kit – What You Need to Bring to your Kid’s Game

So you’re a soccer mom, but don’t mind the stereotype. We could be talking about any number of different sports here, from soccer to baseball, and anything in between. It doesn’t matter which sport your child enjoys, you’re there for it, you’re enthusiastic, and we think that’s awesome! So, here’s a fun question: what should you be bringing to the game? Great question! We’ve put together a few things that you need to bring in order to not only make the trip memorable but fun!

Rain Supplies

No one wants it to rain at a ball game but you know what? It’s going to happen one way or another. It’s something that you need to be ready for, and most people pack an umbrella. Instead of going that route, we would strongly recommend that you pack a poncho. It’s easier to stuff into a bag, and it’s a lot more convenient. Not to mention it’s cheaper. If you’re in a position to sit on the sidelines, then you might consider a personal tent to keep you completely dry during the course of the game, it’s a little more expensive but totally worth it.

Pack Some Snacks

You’re going to get hungry during the game, so pack a snack. On a normal day, you can make a sandwich, but if it’s going to be cold or rainy, pack some soup in a thermos – it’s really easy; all you need to do is pick up some canned soup. I Always remember to pack crackers, you’re going to need them.

Bleacher Padding

There’s nothing more important than making sure you’re comfortable when you sit down, and those bleachers can get pretty nasty after a while. Bleacher padding often referred to as a ‘bleacher buddy’ can really save you here, and they’re sold at nearly any sporting goods store.

Team Colors

If you’re going to support your child, wear something in their team colors, seriously. You’re a soccer mom, so make sure you’re representing! At the very least, wear a hat with the team colors.

Camera

This isn’t so much of a concern these days as almost all cell phones are equipped with a camera, but we’re going to cover it anyway. Make sure you have your phone or camera at the ready, and of course, make sure that it has adequate space on the memory card – it’s more important than you think, and you don’t want to find that out at the wrong time!

Miscellaneous Items

Other items that you should bring with you would include band-aids, pain medicine, and perhaps even a full first aid kit. Finally, bring an extra pair of socks with you, just in case you get your own pair wet.

Heading out to your kid’s big game doesn’t have to be complicated, just follow our list, and maybe add a few of your own items to it.
