Gear Up for Baseball Season – This Season’s Must Have Accessories

Baseball season is about to start up and if you’re planning to attend, there are a few things that you’re going to need, at least if you want to have a memorable experience. There are a few obvious items we don’t need to cover, like wearing comfortable shoes and parking as close to the stadium entrance as possible, but if it’s been a while since you’ve been to a game, or if you just want to double check, then we’ve got a great reference right here for you! Baseball season can be absolutely amazing – just don’t walk into the stadium empty handed.

Represent your Team with a T-Shirt

If you’re heading to the stadium this season then you need to represent!. After all, you don’t want to be mistaken for the away team when it hits the fan, do you? Plus, it’s great to take some pride in your team, so grab a few t-shirts and show your true colors! Great t-shirts aren’t too difficult to find; during baseball season you can get team shirts in just about any retail store or online, just be ready to shell out about $20+.

Team Hats

You’re going to wear a hat at the stadium anyway, so make sure it represents your team. Hats can serve two very distinct and important purposes. First, they show your team pride and let everyone know who you’re with. Second, they keep the sun out of your eyes – you need to have a clear view of the field you know!

A Poncho for the Rain

The biggest downfall of most stadiums, major league or minor, is that they’re outdoors and the weather is unpredictable. Even if rain isn’t in the forecast, bring a poncho – a good one. They’re very inexpensive, just make sure you don’t buy one in the other team’s colors; that never ends well.

Seat Cushions

Whether you’re in an official stadium or something a little more minor league, those seats can get incredibly uncomfortable. You can pick up a good set of seat cushions online or at your local retail store, just make sure you pick them up a few weeks before the game – they tend to disappear right before the tickets sell out. For bonus points, get one with a shoulder strap!

Camera

You’ll want to take pictures of your team in action to post on social media later, so make sure you bring a digital camera. Great news; your smartphone already has one, so before you leave the house, make sure you do the following:

• Charge your Phone
• Put it in a Protective Case
• Clear off Any Unnecessary Pictures to Free up Space

The cool thing about smartphones today is that they can switch between camera mode and video camera mode on the fly – you can even take pictures during the video, and that’s pretty awesome if we do say so ourselves. Not only is it cool, it lets you remove an extra item from your already packed stadium inventory.

Hand Wipes

Baseball can get sticky in more ways than one, as you’re going to find out. Those concession snacks, things you find on the seat, and who knows what else can soil your hands! The last thing you want to do is miss the action by rushing out of your seat and to the bathroom where there’s probably already a line. Bring some wet wipes with you and keep your hands clean the entire time.

Tote Bag

You’ll need something to keep all of your stuff organized, so make sure you pack it in a tote bag. Unfortunately, as of late, stadiums have been denying tote bags that are not transparent, so we recommend a clear plastic one, ensuring that everything is completely visible to stadium officials and security. Your bag may still be searched, but you’ll meet the standard, and that’s what’s important.

Sunglasses

This goes right along with the hat, and on especially sunny days, you’re going to want to make sure you can still see the field. Sunglasses are inexpensive, and chances are you already have a pair lying around.

Portable Battery Charger

Your phone normally lasts 24 hours on a single charge, but when you’re at the stadium it’s going to be seeing more action than usual. You’re using it as your camera, AND you’re probably using social media at the same time – that can kill the battery in just a few short hours. If you want to squeeze a little more life out of it, buy a portable battery charger.

Water Bottles

Don’t get dehydrated at the stadium! Make sure you pack a few refillable water bottles and keep them in your tote bag! Don’t worry, you can always refill them at the drinking fountain, and it’ll save you from buying those expensive bottles from the vendors. Who wants to pay $3.50 for water anyway?

Fanny Pack

Okay yeah, the fanny pack is way out of style but you’re going to thank us in a minute. This little wonder saves you from carrying a purse around, and it also keeps your belongings from being snatched in the busy stadium. Yes, it does happen, so be aware, and wear a fanny pack! Plus, you can totally rock the 90’s look.

Sunscreen

Yep, it’s going to get hot out there, and the last thing you want to do is get home to find your arms baked red. You’re going to need some serious sunscreen, and we recommend wearing something with at least 30 SPF. Make sure you get something that doesn’t melt; you don’t want it in your eyes.

Baseball season takes a lot of preparation, but if you use this checklist, you’ll not only be ready, you’ll be comfortable. Get ready to experience an amazing season!
